The Kalleske farm and vineyards were established in 1853 at Moppa, a small sub-district of Greenock in the North-Western Barossa Valley. The oldest vines on the property today are more than a century old, dating back to 1875. The 120 acre vineyard is a diverse mix of varieties with Shiraz and Grenache predominating followed by smaller plantings of Mataro, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot, Durif, Tempranillo, Zinfandel, Chenin Blanc, Viognier and Semillon. The Moppa/Greenock sub-region of the Barossa is regarded as one of the finest districts for high quality wine, especially Shiraz and Grenache. |

| Kalleske Johann Georg Shiraz - Vineyard (single vineyard) Overview: The Johann Georg vineyard is the flagship of the Kalleske farm. It is the oldest vineyard on the Kalleske property and is fittingly named after the first Kalleske ancestor to migrate to Australia. Johann Georg was born in Brätz, Prussia in 1794 and migrated to South Australia with his wife and children in 1838. The vineyard is entirely dry gown, solely relying on natural rainfall. Variety: Shiraz Age: Single vineyard - vines planted 1875 Location: Moppa Area: 2 acres Yield: 0.75-1.25 tonnes/acre Soil: Sandy top soil with traces of quartz over excellent clay subsoil. | Kalleske Eduard Shiraz - Vineyard Overview: The Eduard vineyard blocks are named after Karl Heinrich ‘Eduard� Kalleske, who together with his wife Anna ‘Rosina� worked the Kalleske vineyard until the 1880s when their son took over the reins. The vines are dry grown. Variety: Shiraz Age: Numerous blocks, vines planted 1905 � 1960 Location: Moppa Area: 1 � 3 acre blocks Yield: 1-1.5 tonnes/acre Soil: Sandy top soil with traces of ironstone over excellent clay subsoil Barossa Classification: Centurion vines (>100 years old) & Old Vines (>35 years old) Grape characteristics: Rich, dark, brooding strong black fruits with a savoury dimension and solid tannins. |

| Kalleske Old Vine Grenache - Vineyard (single vineyard) Overview: It is the oldest Grenache vineyard on the Kalleske property and one of the Barossa’s and Australia’s oldest Grenache plantings. The vines are dry grown. | Kalleske Greenock Shiraz - Vineyard (single vineyard) Overview: The only Kalleske vineyard not adjoined to the ‘home� property, the Greenock vineyard is located just South of the Greenock township on the Western edge of the Greenock Creek. Variety: Shiraz Age: Single vineyard, vines planted 1999 Location: Greenock Area: 16 acres Yield: 1.5-1.75 tonnes/acre Soil: Shallow, sandy loam over superb deep red clay and limestone. | Kalleske Merchant Cabernet Sauvignon - Vineyard (single vineyard) Overview: The Merchant Cabernet vineyard is a relative ‘newcomer� to the Kalleske farm. However, this regal variety produces stunning fruit. Named after the first and seventh generation Kalleske’s, both merchants. Variety: Cabernet Sauvignon Age: Single vineyard, vines planted 1998 Location: Moppa Area: 3 acres Yield: 1.5-1.75 tonnes/acre Soil: Sandy loam with quartz and ironstone over deep red clay. Barossa Classification: N/A Grape characteristics: Classic Cabernet flavours of blackcurrant, violets, ripe herbs. Tannins are strong but integrated and the fruit is lengthy to finish. |

| Kalleske Dodger Tempranillo - Vineyard (single vineyard) Overview: The Dodger Tempranillo vineyard is the newest variety on the Kalleske property. It is named after the vine dodger , a mechanical weeder used on the property for almost a century. Very well suited to our red earth and climate the Dodger vineyard produces characteristic and varietally pure Tempranillo. Variety: Tempranillo Age: Single vineyard, vines planted 2007 Location: Moppa Area: 2 acres Yield: 1.5-2.00 tonnes/acre Soil: Sandy with quartz and ironstone over deep red clay.
